ONE SMALL WORD IS NOT ENOUGH FOR LOVE
One of my favorite conversations between Brianna and Claire has to be this one.
Claire basically tells Brianna that until she has her own children, she has no way of knowing how much a mother can love someone (their child). Holding so much love in your heart for someone that literally just feeling the rise and fall of their chest as they breathe can bring you the most intense happiness. She notes that throughout the years she’s had several nicknames for Brianna, and that people of faith have several names for God, but somehow we only have one word for love. And it doesn’t feel enough.
I very much so admire Claire for the simple fact that throughout all of her inner turmoil Brianna never questioned that her mother loved her and wanted to be with her.
