What originally started as Jamie trying to get out of entertaining another woman, definitely took on a life of its own.
Several of the men Jamie met with for political reasons liked to do so in brothels (sounds like not much has changed 😬). To avoid being touched by other women he told them his wife was La Dame Blanche (a White Lady).
The lore is that a White Lady would destroy the soul of the man who did her wrong with her supernatural abilities. Oh Jamie. 😂😂😂
Not intended at all, but this rumor getting out is what saved Claire from being attacked on the street in Paris one night. They caught a glimpse of her face and basically ran away screaming.
La Dame Blanche is an ethereal peachy cream that I swear glistens!! It feels magical. It’s just how I imagine Claire’s skin would’ve looked under the flicker of moonlight and candles.
