WE MAKE OUR GHOSTS; WE HAUNT OURSELVES

Perhaps my favorite quote in the entire series?  Really the whole prologue from “Drums of Autumn” resonates with me so deeply. 

But this: “All the time the ghosts flit past and through us, hiding in the future.  We look in the mirror and see the shades of other faces looking back through the years; we see the shape of memory, standing solid in an empty doorway.  By blood and by choice, we make our ghosts; we haunt ourselves.” This hits. 

Claire begins by saying it is not the dark figure ghost we imagine when we hear that word. It’s not the ancestors we see in the texture of our hair or the curve of our smile. It’s the choices and path we’ve taken that we have to learn to live with. 

No matter who you are, you have a reel of sorts that plays through your mind.  The highlights of your life,  that your subconscious has chosen to hold onto.  The moments that you don’t know, until after the fact impacted the framework of who you are and what is important to you.  And even the happy memories can illicit deep feelings of melancholy. 

Those are the ghosts.  And we are their authors.

We Make Our Ghosts, is a compilation of many of the tonals in this collection.  It features flows of denim blue, steely indigo, smoky purple, teal blue, a violet magenta, mauve leaning charcoal, and espresso obsidian. 

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER WITH AN ESTIMATED 8-12 WEEK TURNAROUND TIME.  If we hit capacity for this timeframe it will be extended for orders after that cutoff to 12-20 weeks.  I will make announcement on our website and Instagram if that happens.
