I Will Speak For Her ✨
I had to recreate the colorway of the dress Danielle wears in her last exchange with Rodmilla, her stepmother. It’s such a regal orange/red that I think was the best choice for her to wear in this scene. It’s shown throughout the movie backing the king and queen of France, at the ball, and now on Danielle. I’m not 100% sure if this was planned purposefully, but it made things feel like they came full circle.
In this scene, Rodmilla and Marguerite are brought in for questioning before the King and Queen of France. They are about to be sent to the Americas when the Queen asks if anyone has anything to say on their behalf. Danielle unexpectedly comes from around the corner:
Danielle : I will speak for her.
[Rodmilla turns around and sees Danielle dressed like a princess while the others bow]
Danielle : She is, after all, my stepmother.
Rodmilla : [kneels; quietly] Your Highness.
Henry : Marguerite, I don’t believe you’ve met... my wife.
Danielle : [to Rodmilla, smiling] I want you to know that I will forget you after this moment, and never think of you again. But you, I am quite certain, will think about me every single day for the rest of your life.
Rodmilla : [quietly] And how long might that be?
Danielle : [looks up] All I ask, Your Majesties... is that you show her the same courtesy that she has bestowed upon me.
“I Will Speak for Her” is a saturated blend of both burnt orange and poppy red tones. If orange could be jewel toned, this would be it. It very much so walks the line of red and orange.

*Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, bleeding may occur on your first few washes. This is pretty standard of acid dyes, and is more intense with certain pigments.
Each skein may also vary slightly, so if you're working on a project using multiple skeins it is recommended to alternate rows using two skeins at a time. Also, please order skeins for a project in the same order to ensure sameness amongst skeins.
Colors and tone may vary by monitor. I work very hard to capture accurate color by using natural light, but there may still be differences on different screens.
