MY SINS ARE ALL I HAVE LEFT

Outlander is a series filled to the brim with intense emotions.  One of the hardest chapters for me to read was “The Hospital of the Angels” in the second book.

Trigger Warning: Miscarriage

Claire was the nearest to death she’d ever been, after going into premature labor, and birthing her stillborn daughter, Faith.  Mother Hildegarde was afraid they would lose Claire too, and brought in a priest to read Claire her last rites.  Claire was asked to confess her sins, to which she harrowingly replied, “My sins are all I have left.” 

Claire had lost everything in her new life.  She lost Jamie to imprisonment, and now Faith.  So to her she wasn’t ready to be rid of the only fragments of them she had left.  She wanted to feel the pain, because it meant that what she had was real. 

I think as mothers, it’s so easy for us to hold onto parental guilt.  Thinking what we could have done better or different.  Thinking about all the what ifs.  Wondering if we had made one different choice if the outcome would’ve been better.  So while I have not experienced what Claire did exactly, I found this scene to be extremely relatable. 

The photo inspiration is a scene of Fergus brushing Claire’s hair after she’d physically recovered.  Fergus promised Jamie he would take care of her, and he did everything in his power to honor that promise.  In this room, the walls are painted a deep purple that inspired this colorway.

My Sins is a deep indigo purple.  On the superwash blends it leans more into the black and blue tones- giving it the best smoked out feel.  On the NSW it leans more into the plum notes, which I equally adore.

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER WITH AN ESTIMATED 8-12 WEEK TURNAROUND TIME.  If we hit capacity for this timeframe it will be extended for orders after that cutoff to 12-20 weeks.  I will make announcement on our website and Instagram if that happens.
