Motherland

Katinka’s soft yet vibrant spoken mate. A delicate green more cool in tone than many greens. I was inspired to create this color after finding so many Russian buildings were painted in very similar hues, like the ones shown in the show.

While researching why Russia as a country decided to do this, I came to find out that after WW1 there was a big movement to beautify and calm many Russian cities by painting them either a soothing green or bright vivid colors to increase happiness.

So I really wanted to create my own iteration of a green I find calming, while maintaining my inspiration source. So I give you “Motherland”.

The way Enzo gets Yuri to help the Americans is by convincing him it will help his people and country as well. Which is why I found this to be the most fitting name for Katinka’s tonal mate.

Please note when choosing bases- the first and main photo shown is all superwash varieties.  Please scroll through to see how the colorway will look on Non-Superwash (NSW), mohair, suri, etc.

Each skein may also vary slightly, so if you're working on a project using multiple skeins it is recommended to alternate rows using two skeins at a time.  Also, please order skeins for a project in the same order to ensure sameness amongst skeins.

Colors and tone may vary by monitor.  I work very hard to capture accurate color by using natural light, but there may still be differences on different screens.
